But when whatsapp anounced that they have changed the policy then people started to switch to Telegram and Signal for chatting. Telegram got a very quick boost after this incident. Also Signal did. Whatsapp thought that the thing will come back to normal but it didnt happen in that way people stopped using Whatsapp and they might suffer a big loss from this incident.
Looking at this thing whatsapp postponed thier deadline to accpet it from Feb 8 to May 15.
For those of peopole who dont know what is Telegram and Signal, Those are also a end to end encrypted messaging application available in almost all country.
The main issue for Whatsapp was people thought that Whatsapp watch all our private messages from one person to other but thats not the case. People didnt understood it clearly.
